Choose a topic and write a basic essay.  Use Google Docs and share with me giving me right to edit jsteffen@chartercat.org.  After you revise and edit, publish it on your portfolio.

Using the 5W+ technique, also known as the journalistic questions, retell the old joke of why the chicken crossed the road. Develop the who? -- character/ when and where? - setting/ what?- the plot/ how? the development of the plot. Use the same technique to develop the sentences and paragraphs.

From your double entry journal, choose an arguable thesis to write about. In the introduction make sure you have the author's name, the genre, the title and a brief summary of the story relating to your thesis and your thesis. Use integrated quotation from the story as evidence for your thesis.
